2026 Digital Math SUMmit Series
Helping Students Make Sense of Math—Not Just Do It
This summer, we’re bringing math teachers together for two powerful virtual learning experiences designed to support what matters most: helping students truly understand mathematics.
If you’re ready to move beyond procedures and focus on reasoning, discourse, and the math behind the math, these SUMmits are for you.
Two SUMmits. One Purpose.
Middle School Digital Math SUMmit
June 9, 2026
A full day dedicated to middle school math—where we dig into what it really looks like for students to reason, communicate, and make sense of mathematics.
We’ll focus on:
- Promoting meaningful math discourse
- Building perseverance and mathematical grit
- Using visual models and problem-solving strategies
- Helping students move from “answer-getting” to understanding
Digital Number Sense SUMmit (K–5)
June 16–17, 2026
Two days all about building strong mathematical foundations in elementary classrooms.
We’ll explore:
- Number sense routines that actually work
- Place value and operation progressions
- Strategies for multiplication, division, and fractions
- Ways to build math language, thinking, and confidence in students
What Makes These SUMmits Different?
This isn’t about quick tricks or one more thing to add to your plate.
This is about:
- Slowing down to focus on conceptual understanding first
- Creating space for students to think, talk, and reason
- Using strategies that build understanding across grade levels
- Supporting teachers with ideas that are actually doable in real classrooms
Everything is grounded in the Standards for Mathematical Practice—because we want students who don’t just know how… but understand why.
What You’ll Walk Away With
- Ready-to-use routines and activities
- Deeper understanding of math progressions
- Strategies to increase student discourse
- Tools to support all learners
- Confidence in teaching for understanding—not just procedures
And because we know life is busy…
You’ll have access to recordings and resources through spring 2027, so you can learn at your own pace.
Learn in a Way That Works for You
Join us live, or watch when it fits your schedule.
Either way, you’ll walk away with ideas you can take back to your classroom immediately—and a clearer vision of what meaningful math instruction can look like.
Add This to Your Summer Plans
If you believe:
- Math is more than getting the right answer
- Students should be explaining, not just solving
- Understanding should come before memorizing
Then you belong here.
